i think its basically £30 for 320GB of 150+ mbs , cool, quiet, reliable storage

cheap and very cheerful, a usb pen is know where near as quick or has anything like the storage for £30! that the price of less than two blueray movies for a proper decent hardisk

also im sure these will be on offer soon enough at £28

its also faster than the already quick F3 spinpoint 500gb model think about 10-15mbs faster

As they only use part of a single platter, they run quieter and cooler. Just like the F1 320GB which this is going to replace in my system (used just for games - SSD has the OS on it).

no its not near an SSD at all, but if you could get two for £60 and have 640gb in raid 0 just for games drive, then the burst becomes important all of a sudden and this would be 240mbs-250 burst in raid @ £60!

its a good drive to get for a game drive if you buy two imo. coolness, quiet, cheap and to be fair very fast in a raid0 im sure.

but no ssd i agree :)

i am running out of space on a 500gig seagate 7200.12. Was thinking of just picking another up for raid, but i might see what the single platter 640gb model of these does when it surfaces.

however, i do like the slim profile of my 'cuda :/

Am I missing something, or wouldn't a Samsung F3 500GB Drive be a better buy?

its close yea.

i have a f3 500gb and i didnt realise ocuk price for this is now £31! so this does change things, id get another F3 at this price

the f4 is faster though and two would be faster still but seen as SSD is for O/S and two 500`s would be fast enough in raid for games i can see where your coming from.

my f3 cost £45+ 7 shipping i think
