Hi, i am thinking about buying a S22 from samsung's website with a trade in for my old Galaxy S9.

S9 has a badly cracked screen with a line down it, and from what i can tell would meet samsungs not in good condition box which just says device must power on and hold charge which it does.

Has anyone had any dealings with samsung trade in and smashed phones? They are offering 180pounds which is quite a lot for a phone that hardly works.

My worry is they will turn around and say its worth 30 once they recieved it making the deal not so great.

they have the 20percent discount off phones at the moment making the phone total 855.20

Yea but the option only says not in good condition, and that says must hold charge and power on, no mention of screen, so i am a bit weary.
The section I mentioned talks about cracked screens and not meeting the "fully working" guidelines specified in an earlier section so I'd assume they lump them all in together. The only way you'll get a clearer answer than that is by contacting Samsung CS I'd imagine.

Its crazy how they deal with the trade ins, I mean they are happy to discount it to you and after receiving your new phone you get an envelope and a returns label to send it to another provider. I'm pending on 2 devices I sent to them (a tablet and an old fit bit watch) and got some good discount. Not heard when my trade in is completed but others on the thread said its been relatively simple for them and no hidden charges / fees. I'd say go for it.

trying to order but website does not seem to work, when i click continue after entering address nothing happends, tried on both pc and my phone

This happened to me also just go through to check out page and add trade in there, its a check box to agree terms and conditions that doesn't seem to always come up on edge.

Or click the recycling option, if it is the next stage to get the delivery date, rubbish website or browser, not sure which is at fault, probably mix of both :D

its when entering contact details for address, after clicking checkout. It starts grey so cant click, enter shipping and billing, it turns blue as if i can click, i click and nothing happens :<

Managed to get it to work.

For some reason it really did not like my billing address, no matter what i did. Got it to go through by putting shipping address same as my billing and payment still went through. Stupid website imo.

Fingers crossed i dont have any issues with the trade in or i will be sending the handset back.

Also noticed that it auto added a fiver for reclycling an old device, i unticked this box so i now i have a feeling i got to send my old phone back at my expense?

I kind of thought that option was there for people not trading in and just wanting to recycle?? lol

A few months back I took advantage of a "£150 trade-in Phone - Any condition" against an S20FE.
I returned an old A20e with a smashed screen - it powered up, however the screen really was gone.
Took it a while to go through the process - however that was happily accepted.

I don’t think they care too much about the screen. It’s the main board with all the chips they are after :) this seems to be the case with both various Android models and Apple devices.

^ This

I had a half smashed screen and was able to wipe it using a mouse but it didn't boot properly after that and were fine with it.
