So, I bought a Samsung RU7400 TV.

There doesn't appear to be an 'aux in' for wired headphones.

Is there a workaround?

P.S. Yes I knew this before purchasing.

You can get a dongle to plug wired headphones into - not an ideal solution but it works.

EDIT: Several threads on this online - your options are to either use a BT dongle or a DAC/convertor via either the optical or ARC options.

Thanks for response. It looks as if I will need both a DAC as you've mentioned, as well as an AMP to power some 250ohm headphones I'm looking at (DT 990s).

With that in mind.

Does anyone know of any reason why a Creative Sound BlasterX G6 wouldn't work with a Samsung TV?

Well, it didn't work.

Sound does come through the DT 990's, but, it's almost like the AMP part of the Sound Card isn't working, because it's quiet, and neither the volume control on the Creative Sound Blaster or the TV increases/decreases the volume.

Any thoughts?

I use the FiiO BTR5 which I usually use to connect my FiiO FH7 IEMs to my phone using LDAC bluetooth. The highest impedance headphones I've used with it has been the Focal Utopia (nowhere near the 250, only 80 something) previously and it seems to drive them to loud volumes without hitting full volume on the DAC even on low gain. Perhaps do a bit of research/googling as I'm sure someone will have tried it with a 250 ohm headphone but that may be able to do it for you.

FWIW I would've thought what you bought would've done it but TV volume over bluetooth generally comes out quite low so you need a lot of head room. I'd probably look into a powerful desktop AMP with a DAC that supports bluetooth or your tv must do optical output so a DAC that supports optical.
