Hi all

Does anyone have any idea when the 2014 model Samsung TVs are likely to be released?

Just weighing up whether to get a UE65F8000 now, a 9000 (4k res) later or wait and see what the 2014 lineup brings.

The source below is indicative of a 65" inch 4k model for £3.5k which I'd be happy to wait for if confirmed.

Also what are people's thoughts on curved screens? It looks set to be the norm for big screens in the future.

Thank you

curved TV's ...:(

What Kind of person would want a large curved TV hanging on there wall...:p

A large curved PC monitor that your sitting very close to would sound like a good idea,,But not a TV..

Interesting that if you want a non-curved top of the range 8000 series, then you have to go to the 8500 UHD for "not much more money".

I wonder what Samsung think is not much more money for a UHD panel over a 1080P one.

Richer sounds have the 9000s on the website now. £3000 for the 55" and £4200 for the 65"

The 65" 8000 has been slowly dropping price for a while through various sales then maintaining that price til the next drop. Was about to buy it but now holding fire for a bit to try and get 4K res for only a bit more than my current budget.

Hoping the 9000 will drop to £3.5k or lower when the new models come out, or the new model is pitched at £3.5k as per the speculative link I posted.

I, as others have indicated too, am a little wary of this curved TV idea. Going to go and have a look at a few sets whenever I can before I bite the bullet and buy something.

Until then I'm currently using an old 46" in a larger room / further away than it's previous home, it looks tiny on it's new 1600mm wide TV cabinet!
