I like it but don't understand why?
Isn't the external bit of the Veloci for cooling?

Looks good though :-) I was thinking how my rig would look loads better if I had a true 3.5" SSD in it
 
10k rpm drives run hot so the thins provide a method of cooling it... However completely pointless for a SSD that has mooving parts hence no to very little heat.
 
Yep, just for aesthetics mainly. It looks less of a ghetto install and fits in with the rest of my drives. Also I can easily remove it from the anti vibration HDD rack in my case rather than fiddle about unscrewing the Akasa SSD mount. I wasn't expecting it to cool my SSD :p
