As many of you know, I dislike Samsung to the extreme, so i thought I'd create this thread to list all the problems I have had with them, and that many of my friends have had with them also.

Although I cannot stand Samsung for a long list of issues, I'd like this to be a constructive and informative debate for everyone.

Also, I'd like to ask people to post whatever Samsung product they have, whether it has been, or is defective. Post your products even if they're fine so as to be fair and balanced. Post comments or whatever you have heard about the manufacturer.

1) My phone: Had to be sent back due to a faulty battery.

2) My TV: Randomly switched itself on and off and changed channel. Authorised Samsung engineers came to my house and opened it. No physical problem found although they did a master reset. I'd like to also point out that these engineers deal with Panasonic, Pioneer and Loewe and most of their call outs are to do with Samsung TV's. They even said they'd be out of business if Samsung made good TV's :D
TV was fine for another 6 months (now out of warranty) but the exact same problem started up again. I figured out how to do a master reset, but about two weeks later the problem started up again. Now the TV just stands there with nothing to do.

3) Girlfriend's phone: Had to be sent back within 3 months of purchasing it. Defective circuitry inside.

4) Friend 1: Had to send back his newly acquired "Soul" phone because it kept resetting itself (where have I seen that problem before?). Got a replacement, but that one wouldn't turn itself off.

5) Friend 2: Currently has problems with 350 pound 22" monitor; randomly switches itself off/on.

6) User reviews I've seen flooding other high street retailers' websites: Plasma and LCD TV's constantly RMA'd.

7) A high street retailer of premium audio/tv equipment: Nicknamed Samsung "Samdung" - no joke; due to the appalling failure rate of their TV's as reported by their associates.

8) Another high street retailer: Constantly sees Samsung RMA's (plasma and LCD TV's).

To be fair, my girlfriend's old VCR is a Samsung which has never failed. Most probably due to the fact we never use it.

So please list all positive and negative things about Samsung.

Flat panels apper to be sods for turning themselfs off(but still one) I have a samsung too, they make em to good spec, I have a T240 "red rose" its a lovely thing. sept for has a liking to have a blank screen so I have to turn it off than back on, gets rather annyoing

but for TV get panasonic ;) phones, get sony, no wait they gone down hill to lol.

Had a Samsung phone - it was reliable enough, although I got shot of it because the UI was terrible.

Samsung hard drive - no problems.

My friend has a Samsung digital camera which has the annoying habit of randomly corrupting photos stored on the memory card.

ive got two samsung laptops and they are fantastic

and have had various samsung products over the years with no problems at all

I have a Samsung NC10, one of the best netbooks around.

I have had several Samsung mobiles in the past, although they werent the best for userability they did their job fine.

7 samsung hard drives, 1 going back 4 years or so, no issues. 32" HD TV, no issues, dvd drive, no issues, some other random things, no issues.

Everyone i know who has had a samsung phone.....repeated failuers, replacements, failure etc. I think the record was 6 phones in about 4 months (one person) and around 10 over the course of the contract.

I've had a Samsung DLP TV for nearly 4 years. It's been faultless. As was my old Samsung DVD player. And phone. And every Sammy HDD I've ever had has been perfectly reliable too.

I have a samsung digital camcorder and it put me off samsung for a while anything recorded on it would only playback on the device anything else and it appeared completely corrupted ....... my daughters first steps was on it and the only way to retrieve the info was to get the raw iso data and thankfully it converted back to dvd format ............ the camcorder now works but took a lot of sending back to samsung till they finally repaired it properly ............. I now have a samsung phone all fine and I know people with samsung equipment that works fine and reliably ................. I think any manufacturer is going to have faulty equipment sometimes unless they QC everything they make stringently this will always happen ............. like most things its luck of the draw on the whole I like samsung stuff :)

I've had two Samsung monitors, a 913N which I had for about 18 months and 206BW which I've had for over two years, both were absolutely fine. I've had my Samsung L73 camera for over year and although I don't use it much, it's been absolutely fine. Had my Samsung LE26A457 TV for over a year, it's been absolutely fine. Had my Samsung Soul U900 phone for over a year too, and aside from a very odd spell it had whilst I was staying in Kings Lynn for a few days(absolutely no idea why it did that), it's been completely fine too.

No complaints here. :)

We have a SAMMY 20", 22" monitors, just got a 24" monitor, and the quality is excellent not one dead pixel amongst them 10 out of 10. :)

Have several Sammy HDD including the 1Tb F1 - completely reliable for over a year and a half that did not fail within the first 36 hours ass described in the horror stories. Recently got a Sammy 37' TV quality is excellent. Picture is excellent.

Hopefully no RMA any time soon. :D

I always thought Samsung had a good reputation, especially for their flat panels.

I wouldnt touch a Samsung phone, dont like the build quality but....

In my mind their monitors are some of the best on the market. I have 2 Samsung 22" pebbles and they are stunning, they are about a year and a half old and still have a spec that is rarely met by new monitors.

I also have 3 Samsung 500GB HDD which I was dubious about buying but they havent let me down and its been a year or so.

Several Samsung TV's, mobiles and monitors. Only ever has problem with 1 monitor which they replaced quickly.
