More intriguing than Samsung’s foray into the mid-grade DSLR world is Samsung’s partnership with Pentax. In the previous generation, Samsung DSLRs were basically rehashed Pentax DSLRs. That little nugget leads me to believe that the GX20 may, in fact, be a preview of the Pentax K20D that we’re expecting at PMA.

Competition is good for prices so I say the more the merrier, it's interesting that Samsung and Sony think they can make inroads into a DSLR market so dominated by the two big brands. Hopefully they will bring some inovations with them and force Canon and Nikon to up there game even further and reduce there prices!

I had a play with the Samsung GX-10 the other day, and it was very very impressive for a camera that can be found for £350 if you shop about!

I'm looking for something a bit more weather proof than my Pentax K100-D and something like this Samsung GX-20 would mean I could keep all my lenses.

Sony in the guise of Minolta (that they bought from KM) have a history & existing market share though in SLRs whereas Samsung were starting from scratch.
It's interesting that you didn't mention Panasonic as they are in much the same position as Samsung.
I saw a chart the other day of worldwide DSLR market share & Panasonic were flatlining along the X-axis, I don't think that Samsung even made it onto the chart (although they may have been incl. in the Pentax market share).

Looks good.
As a pentax K100D owner I'm waiting to see what the Pentax K20D looks like, or even the K200D. However if the Samsung versions are a lot cheaper, then perhaps they may be an upgrade option!
