We play on 195.189.137.35:9999 mostly, which is a rpg type mod
you can save your money in the bank and be in gangs and stuff..
 
Depends on what kind of game you like, I did a smallish guide on the different mods available here

Personally I used to love MTA before I moved on to SAMP (Normally play with Spunj) but only when it had some creative maps, I'll give MTA deathmatch a shot when it's out though. As for SAMP well... theres almost unlimited possibilitys for different gametypes, I've even seen a 9/11 terrorist attack .ini!
 
I've been playing MTA-SA for the past month or so, and i have to warn you to stay away, it's the first online game i've played properlly and i can't get enough of it! My stats are far too high!. I've had a week off of work and have been playing it for 5 or 6 hours a day.

Like Johanson says, stick to the UK server and it's all good, plus it has stats of your races and everything. Look out for me, Slothmeister.

Johanson, what's your gamer tag?
 
i would definatly give MTA a try if you haven't before, it might not be everyone's cup of tea but is perfect if you just like racing.

Anyone else here play on the UK server?

That's the laggers, shoot anyone with a ping over or around 125ish, and there's some serious sync issues. Find a server where everyone has nice ping, around 60/70 though and it's spot on.

I used to play a lot before SA-MP was released. On a server called "UOcUK", not related to OcUK but there was a great bunch of regulars on there and the races were always awesomely close.

the lag things silly, also the ps2 controllers i find are irritating :D but still, i'll give this a go over the weekend :D over a lan its a right laugh :D

on sa-mp i use keyboard and mouse, but i don't really play that. I only use joypad on MTA, can't beat the ease of controlling with a analogue stick.
 
*Wonders if I still have the sc.boatse record on LittleWhiteys server, only record I ever got... well I was .2 of a second of the drag race one :(
 
dled SA:MP earlier on, just went to try it.
i go on the server list, connect to one. main san andreas menu loads, i click on new game. it loads the map and that but then stays on a view of the vinewood sign.
so how do i actually play on the server?
