sandblasting

A friend of mine was saying that he has got his hands on an old Ford (not sure what) but that its suffering from a bit of rust.

He was talking about getting it sandblasted but ive heard that there are better methods using other substances than sand.

Any suggestions on other methods? and what sort of prices would you be looking at for all of them?

sand blasting tends to use aluminium oxide not sand anyway, you can also used crushed glass.
