Sandbox games - let's build a GTA killer?

I would like to see the business mechanic implimented again from Vice City Stories - you can attack a rival gangs business and take it over. You then have the option of spending money on it to improve it or you can turn it into a different type of business. Rival gangs will attack your business occasionally to try and take it back.


I would also like to see a futuristic sandbox game. Not like Crackdown though, more gritty and set in a dystopia (think bladerunner) but with R*'s humour etc - could be really good.

I wish I could, I have an exam at 2pm, then an essay to write, then 4 more exams in the next week and a half :(

I would like the ability to rise through the ranks. I don't mean in the GTA sense where you just start working for someone with a bit more power....

This would mean you end up with people working for you, you can send them to kill people, deal drugs etc etc to make money for you. However, there are rival gangs and you can't go around killing them without repercussions. Eventually you end up as the kingpin of a city with maybe hundreds of guys under your control.

thats an interesting turn around

perhaps future GTA games will give you power to start the game with so you are kind of managing a 'business' [crime syndicate] rather than doing all the dirty work yourself

the vice city stories business thing was ok but perhaps if a new game put you in the shoes of a crimelord with multiple people plotting your downfall then that would flip the way the game ran and make it more interesting
