sandisk cruzer 16GB write problems

Every time I transfer large files to the stick it pauses right at the end when there are 5 seconds left. It won't pause for a few seconds, it pauses for a whole minute and then finishes writing the file.

Does anyone have a clue on how to sort this problem out?

I've formatted it several times. Tried different files. Different USB slots (2.0 and 3.0, front and back ports). Changed the properties to "better performance". Different computers.

I'm guessing the stick itself is faulty.

No idea how to sort it but I've got a handful of sticks that do exactly the same, from SanDisk and tdk to cheap generic ones.

I've always assumed it's normal.

Ah man. Looks like I'll have to buy a new one. Hopefully this time it will be a USB 3.0 stick.
