Are there any firmware updates I need to be aware of?

Extreme SSD Firmware Release notes

SanDisk Extreme SSD (120GB, 240GB & 480GB): version R201 (release date: April 27, 2012)

WARNING: If you already have the SSD Toolkit installed, then please update to the latest version of the SSD Toolkit application before performing the firmware update for the Extreme. You do not have to uninstall the previous version of the SSD Toolkit; the latest version will replace the previous version.

New changes since version R112:

    Improved the robustness of the recovery procedure during power cycles and secure erases
    Fixed an issue that would block a TRIM command sent by an application on Windows 7
    Improved TRIM throughput, write performance, resume from slumber and checkpoints

Known issues:

    None

You'll probbly want to pick up there SSD Toolkit as well.

Ultra is still on offer but the Extreme is a higher spec drive

I'm mighty tempted to get the 240GB Extreme, £165 for an SSD that size is a steal. :O

That's the problem with superlatives, who can remember which once is best. Anyway my Extreme 240 is running perfectly
