Ok so I may of buggered up my cameras SD card, I have used my cameras SD card to install Windows quite a few times as all my USB drives tend to go walkies.

I used the Windows 8 USB drive software as usual to put a Windows 8 iso on to the SD card which I've done plenty of times before with SD cards and USB drives alike in the past.

I connected the camera via USB cable, The camera housed the SDHC card and during the process the power went out, When the power came back the cameras SDHC card no longer appears which to me signals corruption.

When I turn on the camera it just says card error with no options at all to format the card inside and doesn't show up when the camera is connected to the computer via USB.

Is it possible to repair this somehow ?

Do you have a compatible card reader? The only hope I can think of is that a straightforward reader might have more direct and low-level access to the card, in much the same way that external drive enclosures can have limitations on low level functions.

For the low cost, I can't see it being a bad idea on picking up a high speed card reader, especially as few cameras have full USB 3 speeds anyhow.

Ended up buying myself an SD/SDHC USB card reader, Only cost £2.50p so if it doesn't work it's not a lot lost.
