Hi everyone, its been a while since iv posted on these forums.. But would like to say thanks in advance, and i'll try to explain the problem as best i can.

Problem: computer boots, windows loads, i click on user, and the screen is black with a very faint cursor, no other content displayed on screen.

What happened: media PC.. started making a strange buzz sound (very quietly), while watching a film. Left it be, and just monitored the sound, seemed to go away. Turn computer off for the night, via the sleep button. Went to wake the computer next day and this happened, been happening everysince.

Attempts at resolving it;

RMA to ocuk - sent back to me with note; drive seems fine, needed initializing. I had already done this. Dont get me wrong, im not flamming, just explaining. I didnt querie it, if it worked for them it should work for me!

Reformat - drive not detected, ok so did some research.. Quite common apparantley, need to allocate drive.

Cmd prompt - So went and followed a command prompt, trying getting the try to be recognised. Nothing!

Drive assignment - via admin tools, nothing.

Cmos - Tried resetting, nothing.

Drivers - checked and nothing!

Sata connections - nothing!

Windows disc - tried repair & reformat. Nothing!

Display - tried monitor instead of tv, via vga. Nothing!

Tv card & cable types - Tv card, unplugged power cables to tv card and plugged all pins in to mobo as normal, and removed tv card, nothing! (Display via hdmi to tv)

Only thing i havnt tried is a new sata cable, but i cant see how this would be the problem.. As it wouldnt have loaded windows if it wasnt receiving data from the SSD.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi, no havnt tried ide at all, was thinking if i cant solve it then ill just stick a cheap ide in as i have read that SSD are not very reliable. Will try this when home, thanks.

I got home to attempt this, to find that the hard drive is no longer even detected in the bios, since when and why this has happened i have no idea. As the computer has been idle, and powered down, by psu and mains. I can only assume the hard drive has died all together... I only bought it a couple of months ago, and had little use out of it, would it still be under warrenty with ocuk, or would it be with the manufacturer instead? Any idea's?
