Sandwich Ideas and Appreciation Thread

Not my creation but something I enjoy immensely, its call the "Holy Cow"

Onion and/or Poppy Seed Bagel
Thinly Sliced Rare Roast Beef
Baby Leaf and/or rocket
Slice of Swiss Cheese (or anything mild)
Horseradish Sauce

If I'm honest I like it for breakfast, if I've got the bits in.

My go to sandwich recently has been a slight variation of the classic 'Tuna Mayo'

Mackerel (preferably in brine)
Mayo (duh)
Paprika
Pepper
Fresh leaves of your choice
Freshest slices of bread you can get your hands on!

Make it as you would tuna mayo, but add in 1/2 - 1 tsp of paprika, then once it the mixture is on the bread grind a little bit of pepper on it, then garnish with your choice of leaves. I've also done it in a toasted (then cooled) sesame bagel when we had no bread, and it worked suprisingly well, even if it was bit messy.

My fave sandwich is good old Ham and Egg. Something about the combo never gets old for me.

I think good quality condiments make all the difference too.

Big recommendations for this butter and this mayonnaise. I'm trying different chutneys to find my favourite - at the moment it's this one.

Sainsburys do a seeded sub roll of ham, egg and salad. For a supermarket sandwich it's surprisingly good.

On of my favourites - fresh sourdough bread, one side with Vegemite smeared on it, the other a little Aoili. Then mash half an avocado into it and add bacon to taste.

A great dessert sandwich that I have loved for years is a banana and syrup, butter the bread so the syrup doesn't make it hard. I've always had it with golden syrup but other types might be good.
