Im in the process of buying a SB setup but im stuck on what board to get and also if its worth buying one and then have to send in back in month or so for a new revision?

The boards im looking at :

Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67

Gigabyte P67A-UD4 Intel P67

MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67

Asrock P67 Extreme 6 Intel P67 (This has 6X 6GB ports and a dual bios). Asrock are also offering a extra 1yr warranty because of the SB messup which is good i think

Im the same as you mate but i think im going to get the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme P67 tomorrow i cant wait anymore with this crappy kids pc it`s doing my head in,not to bothered about having to swop out later on tbh.

I've got the Asrock Extreme4 and am very happy with it. I did want the Extreme 6 but the PCI-e layout wouldn't allow for crossfirex and a Xonar DG soundcard.

For the money I think they are brilliant as they're feature packed but reasonably priced.

I spent awhile deciding what mobo to get for my Sandybridge setup and had the same four shortlisted as you have. Went for the UD4 in the end due to all the problems with P8P67, had all the features I needed, loved the black finish, and the fact I hadn't used MSI or ASRock before (same with Foxconn) and although they had good features, I wasn't sure on the quality and reliability of their boards.

As of yet I haven't built my Sandybridge setup as I'd only had my parts for a few days before Intel said there were "potential" problems with the chipset. Still debating whether to build it or not as will be a bit of a faff having to take it apart (yes that does mean I have £500+ worth of hardware just sitting there in their boxes :()

Once I updated my BIOS and cleaned the CMOS I've never had an issue with the P8P67. It's a really good motherboard loaded with features, the PRO version adds SLI support and a better LAN controller for a few more quid. Worth it if you need either of them (or both)

These are brand new so there will be a few problem`s just like my EVGA 4 way board with every new bios it got better and better.

Just an update ive just ordered:

Asus P8P67 DELUXE P67

Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Box

G Skill Ripjaws 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600mhz Cas9 Dual Channel Memory

Ive also got the latest 12.04 bios downloaded and ready to flash.

Hey mate,

Get that flash on asap, sorts out lots of problems :) I thought the board looked considerably cheaper than my old gigabyte board but so far she's 5ghz prime stable!

Me = <3 Asus :p
