Just made the upgrade from a q6600 and hopefully all will be awesome, any advise on this setup?

Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3
Intel i5 2500K
4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz

Don't really know much about sata 3, is that only for new tech (SSD) or can i stick a normal HDD and get a speed improvement?

Hi there,

Have you already bought this and about to set it up or are you looking to buy and about to go for the parts listed?

All those parts you have picked out and really nice and good quality - though if you haven't ordered yet I would suggest going for this RAM instead as the Vengeance heatsinks are massive and often have clearance issues with larger CPU coolers.

As for the SATA3 (or sata 6G) these ports work fine with standard mechanical hard drives as well as SSDs. However, standard HDDs can't saturate the bandwidth of SATAII, so there isn't much point putting them on the faster SATA 3 ports - you may as well save them for an SSD and use the standard SATAII ports with your HDDs.

yeah its been ordered, i have the corsair h50-1 so i shouldn't really have any space issues right?

cmndr andi your link didn't work but i'm still interested to see the ram
