Hi

Looking for a new ryzen build and wondered if anyone can sanity check the following before I order

Existing components
Dell 27" Gsync 1440p 144Mhz monitor
Zotac Mini 1070 (will upgrade this next year)
Corsair 650W Gold Modular PSU
Rajintek Asterion Classic case

So looking to buy the following components

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £859.46 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Was really unsure about the motherboard.. I need wifi , and am aware of the MSI promotion on coolers.

Purely used for Gaming.

If there something obviously better for the same kind of money then let me know :)

Thanks

just get the msi b450 gaming pro carbon-ac
£120-130

not really needed with ryzen 3000.
just get normal speed 3200 c16 ram for 60% of the cost.

98% of the performance for £200 less

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £665.06 (includes shipping: £11.10)

The in-between

Get ram direct from Corsair and £730

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £771.46 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Intel, faster for Pure gaming

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £688.41 (includes shipping: £10.50)

B450 and ryzen or z390 and i7 ... Either will be killer .
If you plan on going more the. 16 cores then b450 wouldn't cut it

Thanks for the responses chaps..

Taken on board what you've said about memory so will get the Team Group Dark T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz

B450..yeah I thought about it but had concerns over BIOS compatibility, overall I think I'd rather have x570 and don't mind paying extra...

Orbital, I've seen you spec the Gigabyte X570 GAMING X a few times now so you must rate it , but it doesn't have wifi which I'd like.

I'm coming from a 2500k so yeah, a big upgrade :)

not AX but not many £300 and under wireless routers support that

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tp-l...-dual-band-pci-express-adapter-nw-21g-tp.html

good board for the price, until b550 rolls out not likely Q1 next year , can handle 16 core without manual overclock . wouldn't do that on 4 phase (8 parallel) B450 boards , that one is 10 or 5 phases doubled

again check out corsairs own website for 3600hz ! with x570 board just plug and play with XMP enabled - allow PBO do to its thing

Msi b450 gaming pro carbon AC will handle an oc 12c ryzen 3000.
And also much better value than the x570 boards currently.
Of course if you don't want to deal with bios updating, then by all means get the x570 boards...

^^ saves about £60-100 ^^^

Ryzen 3009 has caught up a lot to intel, which still holds lead for gaming for now . Have to see with bios updates how much performance can grow :)

Haven't looked to much to see how 3200 Vs 3600hz effects b450/x470 boards etc

From sporadic user reports...minimal gains in the region of 2%

Guessing like most things, will be data critical software that it would take advantage off .
Cant wait to see how ryzen 3900 and 3950x running Pix4D works with 4409hz ram :D

to compare ryzen and intel
