Sanity prevails!

coincidental their competitor's just gone to the wall - ill omen.
but distributing air in cardboard boxes was not efficient ... unless it's an apple ?
A couple of things to clear up here - firstly Poundland sell a lot of other products than triangle shaped chocolate bars, that isn't their primary business. Secondly they haven't gone to the wall at all. Are you maybe thinking of Poundworld? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44891786

They probably lost a lot of sales and did the numbers and realised it's better to raise prices than making changes.

To be honest, I'd rather them making it shorter, and lose chocolate that way than to make the gaps bigger.

That would cost them millions in resizing packaging which is exactly what they were trying to avoid.

yes, you're right

ironically, following some of earlier links, the poundworld contender may have triggered the reversal, since apparently if you do not use a shape copyright for five years your copyright is weakened (albeit currently 2years), similarly nestle were not able to copyright kit-kat since the visible bar shape/dsitinctiveness was not prevalent enough in their adverts
