Santander mess up yet again

I don't know if they've managed to send my statement to someone else but since I barely use them now I'm not hugely bothered by it, if someone else sees how little I've got in my Santander account I can live with that.

not surprised....they twice managed to send my partners card to another address.
both times the people came and hand delivered it to her lol.

Just lol.

I have known for a few weeks about this as it has lead to massive increases in fraud there. Lot's of customers have had their accounts drained of cash due to fraudsters obtaining this information.

Banks are useless in general. Barclays is the worst bank I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. As usual, the staff are remedial, call centres **** and the people who man them are clueless. Staff are quite rude at times. If I thought it would make a difference I would change.

As far as I can see, the only people who don't have issues with their bank are those that just pay money in and use cash points. If you ever want them to actually do something then good luck. I have had them manage to **** up changing my address twice, once I sent them a letter, that didnt work, then I went into a branch to do it, that didnt work.

I went in again and said that this is taking the mickey, all my bills are going to my old house and I need a new card but I dont want that sent to my old house. Ok sir, we will change the address and send you a new card. "Please can you make sure that you change the address before sending the new card?" Oh yes, of course we will.

2 weeks later I get a bill to the new address but no card. Oh sorry sir, thats gone to the old address.

I forgot my pin once and locked my card as a result, so I phoned them up to see about getting it unlocked. They tell me to go to a cashpoint and use the card with my pin and go to the option to unlock the pin which will allow me to take money out again.

Go into the city rather late at night as I need to get some money, lo and behold, it doesnt allow me to unlock the pin. Call them again and explain the situation to someone else and they tell me that I have to wait 24 hours to do this. Cheers guys, I wanted to make a wasted journey to the city to do this.

Go in again a day later and try and its still not working. Go into the branch and ask at the counter for help. They just tell me that the cash machine should have unlocked it and they would have to send me a new card. New card arrives with the same pin number as my old one about a week later.

They are just retarded.

Bit of irony for me.

Well with the knowledge of someones account details and some transaction history, how would you use this to commit fraud?

Well for starters if you get sent someone else's statement which includes there full name address DOB etc, this information can easily be used to steal someone identity.

Also with the statement you could easily then contact the bank and then access the account over the phone and then transfer money to another account.

The security questions over the phone you could quite easily answer as you usually get asked what recent transactions have you made, with the statement in front of you you would pass security and then have full access, this is shocking from Satander.

Is that enough ?

I wont list the amount of problems ive had with them over the years,im so glad im banking elsewhere now.

santander always fail, they are the worst bank in the world

Totally agree with you there. I was with A&L for 17 years. I had no issues with them. Now santander have taken them over. All my sort codes have changed, and they never bothered to tell me, so it was quite shock when all my direct debits had failed and I was racking up quite a few charges for late payments.

This kind of stuff should be done with no hassle and no stress to anyone, including me.

I received a letter explaining exactly what was happening with the sort codes. Furthermore, despite now having a new sort code, I can continue to use the old sort code and none of my direct debits are affected, as the letter explained to me
