Oh that's good to hear, I was going to ask if they xfire with 7970 seeing as they're just a rebadged 7970. This news has got me starting to think if I should get a 7970 to replace my xfire 6950s then a 280x in the future, or if I should just wait it out for the 290x and see how they compare to the 780 before deciding on my upgrade.
2. It is reference 7970 PCB. It will fit any ref block AFAIK.
Toxis 280X is not reference design and EK have no plans to make any full cover blocks for it.

I wished this too but now the delay on the 290 range reviews, its makes life even harder, damn this wait.
Would be a nice upgrade to my 580's, CEX offering £168 for both 580's... need another £100 and I'm on it!!!!
Just read that it is 12.5inches long, max gfx card size for Silverstone FT02 is 12.2in with grille removed... will it fit haha? I think I am out of luck!

According to the specs of my Lian Li V355 the max card length is 310mm which is 12.2 inches.
May have to think again about whether I should buy this card.

Yeah just waiting to hear when these will be available.
I can remove one of the fans at the front of the case inside that will give me an extra 15-20mm which may be enough
GTX 580 SLI is miles better than a single 7970/280X.
I'm getting horrible / noticeable micro-stuttering when using SLI so have been using single cards for ages now as I cannot deal with the stutter ha
