Hi, the card seems to underclock to 475/593 once I run games for more than a few minutes, when I run 3dmark 05 I get 7800 which is low for a x1800xt?

Temps never have gone above 75 but I reckon it can, the fan keeps getting louder and louder.

My X1800XT is 60ºc idle and 80ºc under load, and I have great airflow in my case, so your temperatures are fine. Have you left the card at stock or are you trying to overclock it? Which drivers are you using? Do you have VPU Recover enabled?

Hi using normal drivers off website now, this is the first time i've gone ATI so I dont have a clue about these cards, what is VPU Recover and how do I enable/disable it?

its at stock sorry forgot to mention.

It's best to leave VPU Recover on just in case anything goes wrong, it's on by default in Catalyst Control Centre.

You mentioned that you were downloading the new drivers, which ones were you using before?

none, this is the first time ive tried the card, it seems to crash even when trying to changing a few settings on ATI tool.

If you've gone from an Nvidia to an ATi then it could be conflicting with leftover drivers and orphaned registry entries. Give a reinstall a try and see what happens, can work wonders.
