SAS drive adaptors?

Hi people,

I don't know much about SAS drives other than my motherboard does not have the correct socket to connect them. What exactly should I be looking for to make this son of a gun work?

You will need a SAS controller card, which the cheapest card is usually the Dell Perc 5i card, can be found on a certain auction site for around £80-£100 and then another £10 or so on a SAS cable

how about those splitter cables with the 4 satas on one end and the 36 pin socket on the other? would you still need a controller card?

Yes, the cable is just a cable. You still need a controller card.
