SAS Rogue Heroes (BBC)

I really enjoyed the first 3/4 episodes, but I lost its way near the end. Dunno why I thought that, but I just lost interest a bit more during the last few episodes when they trained the French.

Mostly enjoyed it, but absolutely hated the soundtrack and came close to turning it off a number of times, i.e. Ace of Spades during the incredibly iconic Jeeps storming the airfield, yuk.

Its not the music itself, its rather corny used in this way. I believe this was the same in Peaky Blinders which i've never watched ?

Yes and that is also awesome on how they use modern music in a 1920s setting.

Watched the first 3 episodes proper man TV not had a show like this for years, great stuff.

It's been decent so far, sticking to watching it weekly, does feel like depending on which character your with up until they all got together at the end of episode 2 it was a completely different show and tone.

Yeah, it's okay. I do find the tone a little distasteful, given the subject matter. Same as I did with Peaky Blinders TBH, although my other half liked that so I watched it.

That said, it is okay. And although I do find the soundtrack a little jarring, I like all the songs they've used so...

The use of modern music is understandable, but set too loud for the general tone of the programme.
The three musketeer characters are mostly one-dimensional, I find. Stirling not so much, but Paddy and Jock are written as pretty dull cookie-cut characters and there's not much real exploration of who they really were.
The addition of Eve is just utter woke ****. That never happened and the
capture
scene was pure fiction.
His actual capture was very different.

I didn't like Sterling that much for the first few episodes, by the end I loved him. Such a fantastic performance from Connor Swindells. I hope Paddy's character develops a little more nuance too in the next season.

It's biggest weakness for me is the action sequences, some of them felt completely ridiculous, especially the final one involving Sterling.

I hope they track the regiment over the years, the greatest hits.

Yeah I quite enjoyed it in the end but there's not much need to make stuff up when the real life stuff was dramatic enough.

Watched it and it was OK. Very Peaky Blinders in that it's a lot of style and not much real thought put into the scenes. As mentioned, the last scene with Sterling was just really badly done.
