Hi all,

Im guessing this question has been answered before but:

Im building a new machine and want to mostly have sata 3 drives in it , i however have 2 sata 2 ssd drives from my old machine which im hoping i can also use.

Is this possible?

Windows is going to be on a sata 3 standalone ssd

i want to get a hdd 1tb sata 3 for media

and then i have the 2 sata 2 ssd hopefully for games (if they will work together) ?

My mobo will be a msi z97 gaming 7

Thanks all

sata-3 should be backwards compatible with sata-2 so unless there is a chipset conflict (don't know of any modern ones) you should be good to go :)
