Sata 2 hard drive on sata 150 mobo

Hi....just bought a MSI RD480 Neo2 Crossfire motherboard, quick question...will a samsung sata 2 hard drive work with this mobo...obviously i know it wont work at sata 2 speeds...but will it still actually work as a sata 150? or will i need to buy another hard drive.
