Hey, does anyone have any figures regarding peformance of traditional mechanical drives over a 6gb sata bus, i know it wont hit that or probably anywhere near it. but does anyone have actual numbers regarding this?
It makes next to no difference, Mechanical drives barely hit half the capability of SATA 3Gb as it is.
You get slightly faster cache hits IIRC, but in the real world this doesn't make a difference.
