You get SATA cable with most motherboards and I'm sure they are fine for every day use for Joe Public and what, but, my questions is.... Are there any better choices?

Such as with my audio equipment, choice of cable is very important if you want the highest possible sound quality.

I'm sure this must be the same with SATA/Computers in general? Or am I wrong?

If not, what are the best options for high quality SATA cable?

As far as I am aware a SATA cable is a SATA cable, it either works or it doesn't as all it has to do is send 1&0s from the hard drive to the motherboard.

The only real differences I know of are the WD SecureConnect cables (which are designed to be less liable to fall out but only work with WD and maybe one other manufacturers hard drives) or UV reactive cables. :)

Audio equipment uses analogue signals which are very susceptible to interference etc which can be limited by using quality cables. The digital signals in PCs are far less susceptible to interference and hence cable quality doesn't matter to the same degree.

So basically the SATA cables which come with mobos etc are fine.
