Sata cable speeds?

I've been told that there is no difference in sata cable speeds and buying Sata 6 cables is a waste of money and misleading.

Is this true?

sata is sata just get any you wont notice a difference

I was going to post about this Silverstone SST-CP05 Hot-Swap SATA II Module Cable [SST-CP05]. I assumed it would work with SATA III too - the problem I find is that HD Tune is an old app that doesn't detect when a HD is working over SATA III. Any newer (free) apps that do?
