I want to add another hard drive (to run Linux) but I can't find the spare cables that came with my Corsair PSU. I have an Asus P5Q Pro and I'm going to get a
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB. Does it matter that this is Sata III (P5Q only Sata II?). Do I just need a standard Sata data cable and a power cable? Can you link an appropriate power cable because the only ones I see seem too short.

No problem running a SATA3 drive, their backward compatible.

Normal SATA data cable required, the drive will come bare with no cables or screws. If you have any spare from the motherboard they'll be fine.

When you say you can't find cables which came with the PSU is it a modular one? Even then there are usually multiple connectors on a single drop, are you sure there are no spare connectors in your case?

You were bang on, I opened up the case today and the power cable going to my existing drive has a spare connector hanging off it so it's just the sata I need. Cheers mate!
