sata drive smart info?

hi all, on my asrock dual-sata2 board any drive plugged into the sata port does not show smart info. is there a way to get the smart info to show?

Is the drive set up as a single disk RAID array? ie did you have to do the F6 thingy to install windows on it? Or is it running in ATA mode?

I'm guessing the former, RAID arrays are notorious for not reporting SMART data back normally.

i found out what it was. its the ide drivers that are installed. in safe mode smart info is read fine.
