As my new mobo (MSI Z170A gaming M7) supports SATA express...

and says the following:

"Each SATAe connector can be used with a single SATAe device or two legacy SATA devices".

Fair enough. Might be handy to have access to a couple more SATA ports.
But... where can I buy a SATAe to SATA connector, or cable????
or come to that, a SATAe cable at all!

I've had a poke around the Internet and I can't find anyone selling any sort of SATA express cables / converters.

IIRC sata express sockets basically comprise of 2 'sata' sockets plus another mini socket on the end, there's a little more to it than that obviously but you can literally just stick the sata cable in the 'sata' socket.

Thanks... Now I think I understand. Thought the little sockets to the left of the 2x SATA ports were the SATAe ports. Where it looks like the whole thing is the SATAE connector. Already using these SATA sockets.

It's just not very well explained in the mobo manual. Might of helped if they had shown a picture of a SATAe connector.

Thought I got another couple of "free" SAT ports out of it somehow :(

Thanks.
