I built a new system but canno get the hard drive to be recognized at all.
I have a maxtor diamondmax 10 SATA hard drive with Abit AV8 3rd eye motherboard. The rest of the computer works fine when i tried with an old IDE hard drive.
Ive checked all the connections and tried a different cable
The windows cd im using to try and install does have integrated SATA drivers (i tried with drivers on floppy too).
There are no jumpers on the motherboard or hard drive relating to it
Ive tried the bios settings relating to sata but if you know what they should be please tell.
Im basically out of ideas, please help
