Sata Hard Drive

Hey i just connected a SATA hard drive to my Asus Deluxe motherboard, windows xp service pack 2. The hard drive is showing up in 'hardware' in 'system Properties' but in 'my computer' it is showing up as a cd drive. So i am unable to save items to it. I don't understand why this would happen?

Go check in Disk Management and see what that reckons the file system on the disk is configured as.
