Hi
I recently bought a WD Caviar Black SATA Hard Drives 640 GB.
I also have my old IDE HD still in the machine. I installed the new Sata HD and check the bios and there it is
I then boot the pc to install windows 7 on the new HD, win 7 sees my old HD and also the new sata HD, however after I selected the new HD to be used to install win 7, win 7 setup didn't appear to be doing anything, as if it wasn't responding, so i wait and wait...
Anyway, time passes and nothing has happened so I reboot the pc and now my bios doesn't see the new HD and when the new HD is connected it takes ages for the boot screen with "press F2 for bios" to proceed into bios and it doesn't see the new HD at all no matter which of the 4 ports it is connected to. I have also tried different cables. Does this mean the new HD is faulty (DUH!), it is still working cos when it is powered up and can hear it slightly (vibration on desk).
Regards
Paul
