SATA HDD detection help

Hi all

System summary

ABIT NF7S V2 mobo
40g ATA HDD
120g SATA HDD
1TB SATA HD

My problem is this, I have just bought a new SATA HDD 1tb which my system recognised but would not format and utilise. So I have bought a PCI to 4 port SATA card to plug the new drive into. However every time I boot my PC the raid utility recognise that the new drive is there and hangs the boot process. If i unplug the SATA lead it boots, and then I can plug the SATA cable back in and off I go again, until I want to reboot.

Is there any way around this.

check if your PCI 4 port SATA card is bios upgradable/check for newer bios or try emailing the manufacuturer about your problem.
