Hi,
If SATA drives each have an independent channel with the mainboard, would I be better off with a HD for the OS and a HD for Games? Rather than say, a Raptor partitioned for OS and games.
Is the difference negligible or better yet am I talking a load of bowlicks?

Yes it can be a good idea if you have multiple drives, to try and make use of the parallelisation possible by having independent IO channels. One way is to ensure System/Temp and Data/Swap is on seperate disks, for example.
