Just a quickie, can you run a SATA drive & an IDE drive on the same motherboard?

I've just got a whole load of bits for an upgrade including a 250gb SATA drive, but ive got a 20gb IDE drive that has a load of stuff on that i want to keep.

Yeah, not a problem to do. I would suggest, however, that if you want to install Windows on the SATA drive that you unplug the IDE one while you're doing it. This will prevent windows from putting bits on the install on the wrong drive which it can do from time to time.

Seconded. It can also do irritating things like insisting the PATA drive is C:, followed by the CD-ROM as D:, making the SATA drive E:. It took me a while some time ago to realise even a ZIP drive can do this when the PATA HDDs are on a RAID controller.
