Hi all,

Ive just bought a Maxtor 250GB SATA II drive from here. My current setup is a Abit NF7-S v2.0 mobo. Will the new drive connect to my mobo or have I gone and bought something that wont connect. Ive only just realised it is SATA II, and im not sure if they have different connections. Also, would a cable be included in this:

Thanks.

SATA II doesn't use a different type of cable, a normal SATA cable will do just fine.

As the drive is OEM i very much doubt it will come with a cable. I've never bougth a maxtor but my Seagate and Western Digital OEM drives didn't come with anything other than the box they were packed in.

Because that mobo only supports SATA and not the newer SATA II the drive will be limited to a 1.5gb transfer speed.

Thats no problem about the speed, its just for storage and media files. So all I need to do is buy a standard SATA cable that I use with my other SATA drive on this mobo and it should work fine. Thats good news. :)
