I'm upgrading my system and i've got 3 SATA drives but i was looking to add a couple of new drives which happen to be SATA-II .
I've just read the guide above and i see that they should run fine with other SATA drives. So i shoudn'yt have any problems running these on a DS4 board with some older SATA drives?

Would it be better to put a OS on a SATA-II as it would be faster?

Thanks for your time.

You will probably find that advances in drive technology make the drives faster rather than simply the fact that they are SATA II so I guess that is a yes, if you can put up with the hassle move the OS to the new drive.

There should be no problems, as far as I am aware you can mix and match between SATA and SATA II, if the SATA drive doesn't support a feature or can't transfer at 300mb/s(nominal speed) then it won't do it and will simply run at the normal speed for the drive(nominally 150mb/s). :)
