Hi guys I was just wondering if people who have a motherboard capable of SATA II and a HDD that has a SATA II interface (in non RAID mode), if you could please do a benchmark test using HD Tune, and tell me your scores i.e.

Minimum transfer rate
maximum transfer rate
Average transfer rate

access time
burst rate
cpu usage

TIA guys!

You mean SATA300 ? (there is no such hardware term as SATAII)

My Raptor is SATA150 (makes no difference to a single drive anyhow)

My WD MY Book is SATA300.

Wow, 37MB/Sec faster than mine! Any tips on improving the transfer rate? (Iv kept all the preinstalled rubbish that came with the PC, and its not been defragged or anything at all, im using around 100GB of the 320). Do you reckon if I did a clean format of the HD and then ran the benchmarker it would show any gain?

It shouldn't do, the read test only checks the drive itself not its content

Thanks.
Mine is partioned for dual boot so that maybe it.
Also GA emailed me ages ago and said the Intel sata ports only
work at UDMA Mode 5 and not Mode 6.

I will watch out for this when I get my next GA mobo.

Thanks for taking the time for that byteagig ;)

My firmware version is 12.01B02 so it looks like asking WD for a new firmware version.
Cant seem to find one on there site so I will email them asap.
