I have an Asus P6T SE motherboard and have decided to ditch all my mechnical drives and get a 128 M4

The motherboard is only Sata II is it a waste?

I have a Crucial 64GB M225 as boot drive and its been great so I was thinking of adding a 128GB M4

Shall I get a 2 Port Lycom PE-115 SATA III controller card for it or will Sata II be fast enough ?

As I have my Home server for storage over Gigabit lan I don't need toones of space on my main Rig just for Steam games

Cheers

not a waste, and don't bother with a controller card. there will still be a massive improvement over mechanical drives even on SATA2. there aren't many situations where a SSD will actually saturate the SATA2 bandwidth
