sata into a esata ?

Hi,

i just got a icybox caddy which has a sata connector on it and on the back of my shuttle there are esata sockets so do i need a sata to esata cable or can you plug a sata into a esata socket ?

ok thanks, never used esata before and i thought the only thing different was the esata had a locking plug on it.
