Out of intrest what are the conections like on these?

Are they like a STD pc on power etc, can they be use on a desktop at all?

Hot idea for a mod you see

IDE/ATA/PATA/UDME

They are 44pin i think which need an adapter to run on a desktop

Sweet cheers for the info on the SATA ones. Just as well i huge box at work of them to toy with

So in a laptop the SATA ones they will have a sata cable and a power input or can they run off the SATA at all?

Yeah we gathered that the SATA 2.5 drive use the same conections as on a desktop SATA!

How ever my laptop i am on now has what looks like a SATA conection to the mobo but it then conetcts to an IDE dirve!

I will open it up and get photos

IDE optical drive in my laptop has a connector which looks similar to the SATA one, but it deffo is not, never had one with an IDE HDD so couldn't comment on those.
