I was just going to leave it there but maybe I should give you a couple of reasons - theoretically faster as the potential bandwidth is greater(although both IDE and SATA drives the same mechanically), the cables are neater, IDE is becoming less common so in the future it may not be as easy to transfer your hard drive(unlikely for quite a while yet) and finally what else are you going to be doing with your SATA ports?
