Hi, I just ordered the today only combo deal (GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 Motherboard & Corsair 16GB LPX 2400MHz DDR4 Bundle). I need an ssd to pair it with. Would you go sata or M.2? Thanks.
Well you can get a M2 drive on a SATA interface
But M2 with PCIe/nvme will give you more performance.
How much of an performance though ? as i understand the speeds are quite similar fro M2 and conventional SATA drives.

What use are specs to anyone when they don't deliver any real world performance benefit?

If you like the form factor, want to free up SATA ports or simply must have the latest tech then go for it. But if it's bang for the buck you're after, you're barking up the wrong tree.![]()
