Anybody know of any other products like this? OcUK or not...
Have googled, its just impossible when I'm searching not to get just hard drives and external ones... keywords SATA and USB... Im a poor googler, I know!
My sister needs a solution for multiple hard drives (she has about 20 in different capacities (all 3.5")).. She doesn't need them all plugged in, and doesn't have a PC so would use the USB instead of e-sata...
Does anything like this exist with more than 2... thinking 4+

Thanks for any help offered

And the good thing about this one, from her point of view is one usb cable for both hard drives.. Don't know if one for four is viable... Access speeds should be a consideration.. but not too heavily... Her drives are slow, but she should be getting some wd green's

one of the benefits of esata is that you can plug and unplug while the host pc is running, why would she need 4+ plugged in at the same time?.

Shes quite a well known up and coming editor. Her video files for one project often spreads across a few hard drives, especially since HD came about...
I wouldn't say she needed four in at a time, 2 is enough, but for convenience 4 would be good.
Im trying to get her to buy a desktop, but she has a macbook pro (final cut studio) which I have to agree is the best thing for her.. Mac pro's are expensive etc etc...
Anyway those quick port's look like the best option for her right now, even if she is running them uber slow on a usb... Wait for usb 3 though...

why not put them + some large drives in them, to save having 20+ drives?

I can vouch, if shes having to spread files accross drives, meaning there huge, using them on USB, even more so shared, is going to be horrible. Transferring 200gb takes 1-2 hours or so, (iirc) and 750b was hell. tbh, get a cheap desktop and fill it with hdd's, then put it via Gbit network to her mac?

She doesn't have much cash atm.. But its probably the way she should be doing it... the first thing I'll make her get when she gets money is a machine with esata (not sure which macs do)...

This perhaps

It doesn't look like it's tool free - it seems screws are needed to secure each HD to the caddy - but extra caddies can be purchased (supposedly).

This looks perfect for now! Don't know how I missed that on their website!
Her transfer speeds will be horrible, agreed, but she's coped so far (plus she's never had a fast machine so doesn't know hers is truely awful!)
Thanks for the link, will find somewhere to get one and some trays..
