so my RAID 0+1 array running accross 4 samsung SATA drives has been rebuilding for some time now (2 days) and it's getting beyond a joke, every time it reaches 100% of the rebuild it's restarting, i dont know if it's a problem with one of the drives or one of the SATA cables which might have been over stressed, does anyone have any idea how i can find out?
if it is just a dodgy disk i dont mind, as luck would have it i have a spare, at one point the computer did boot up with only 3 of the drives registering but after destressing the SATA cables and making sure all the connectors were pluged in it came back, could a loose connection have fried a drive? and if so... how can i find out which one! o_o'
please, someboady help me
btw.. i'm putting this in the general hardware section as it's possibly the SATA cable, the HDD or the nF4 Lanparty mobo with it's nForce RAID driver, that and hardly anyone ever goes in the HDD section of the forums (so if a mod does think this should be moved, can you just leave it be untill tomorrow?
