Hi guys

I'm currently using two Maxtor 200Gb SATA in a RAID 0 config.

I also want to add 2 320Gb Western Digital Sata drives NOT in a raid config...is there a chance it could cause any problems with already having a RAID 0, or will they just display as 3HDDs?

Thanks, any replies would be appreciated as I'm looking at getting them today!

You shouldn't find any problems adding them to have them appear as 3 separate hard drives, I used to have a Raid0 array and one separate hard drive on the other controller which worked no problems.

Just remember to check that the options in the bios are correct and it should be fine :)

Ok thats great.

Thanks for the quick reply! :D

Just another quick question...some of the Western Digital drives say they are RAID drives and others don't...there isn't much difference in price but the RAID versions have a 5 year warranty.

A RAID version would be OK to use when it isn't in a RAID...wouldn't it?

Yes again no problems in not using it in Raid, the Raid designation generally just means that it has undergone more testing so in theory should be more reliable and often costs a shade more as well but as you say have a longer warranty.
