Sata to esata Possible ?

Hi guys is it possible to run a sata hard drive from esata port on back of pc using a sata to esata cable ?
Will there be any problems voltage wise or any other problems trying this.

The reason i want to do this is lack of sata connectors on board all used up.

I literally have just tried this and it worked perfectly , the only difference between Esata and regular Sata is the connectors .

Only 1 meter , 0.5 will be too short imho .
